Que pasa Canasta Records!!!!! Yeah, I am back.well first thing on the agendawant to congratulate Canasta Records for staying on top of the game, in the last couple of months they have managed to sign a very talented artist, Mr. Santiago Garza and his band LA NATURALEZA, released the debut NATURALEZA CD, Randy Garcia y Su Conjunto Estrella released their debut Cd, and ole faithfulMr. Lazaro Perez y Su Conjunto graced us with their 5th offering.which brings me this review that I am about to do.
First lets start with La Naturaleza Front man and accordion player Mr. Santiago Chago Garza, not much can be said about him other that he has one of the strongest voices in conjunto. This debut CD will have to go down as one of the best debuts that I have heard in a long time. From the opening notes of Olvidala Corazon to the closing notes of the polkita Mi Marcella this CD for lack of a better wordskeeps you interestedkeeps you wondering how much better the next song is gonna beOne thing that comes to mind is the fact that a few of the songs on the Cd are originals, and in an era where it is stylish to do remakes, this is definitely a breath of fresh air.Hats off to Santiago y La Naturaleza look forward to seeing you guys in a club soon, and even more so looking forward to your sophomore offering.
Next up.Mr. Randy Garcia Y Su Conjunto Estrella.This Debut Cd is a little harder to review.when I first heard the Cd I will admit to being a little confused as to what I was hearingI didnt know whether to like it or not like itI put the CD on the Ipod and decided to give it a lil time.Few times while driving to work one of Randys song would come on and I guess listening to it again put it in a new light.Slowly I came to realize that it wasnt Randy, but the material he was playing that made me feel the way that I didFor a debut cdthis kid went all out and covered some of the most revered songs in the industry.and what I realized that I went into this CD expecting to hear the artists that made these songs so popularFor instancewhen I hear arbol Viejo I hear Tony SaenzTe he prometido I hear los Tremendos CincoEl muchacho alegreMr. Tony DelarosaI think you know where I am coming fromRandy was like the little engine that couldhe tried and tried and never gave upOverall, this is a Good cd, you can tell that a lot of hard work went in to itIt actually has a song nadie como tu that is doing very good in Mexico radio.My advice for the next one.Randy.dont pick on the legends lil brotherworry about taking down the wanna bes , and before you know it, you will be a legend yourself
Last but not least.Mr. Lazaro Perez.to borrow a line from a movie . Were not worthy!!!, were not worthy! and thats doing all the kneeling and stuff includedLazaro, you once again raised the bar my friendif there is one thing that I like is that your music gets stronger and stronger as the years go bythis is by far the best I have heard LPYSC soundand its amazing how a little tweeking of the lineup can do things like thisBringing in Jerry Flores on bajo was absolute genious , this guy lets his playing do all the talking for him, he prefers to be in the background, but you cant help hear how strong that bajo playing isI can honestly say that there is not one song on this cd that I would skip over to hear something elsethey are all that good.This is a MUST HAVE CD.I strongly recommend it.and to the person that did the mixing.AWESOME JOB.its awesome driving home in the 300 and having it sound like LPYSC is jamming right there in the car with meI hear Jerry in the passengers seat, Lazaro coming from the drivers side front, and the bass and drums from the backseatdamnI am getting excited just talking about it.well guys time to get some things done around here.hasta la proxima.HAY LOS WACHO!!!!
P.S DO NOT hesitate to pick up any of these CDS.all of them are worth having in the collection.
