I got the cd of former Dos Gilberto Bajo Player/Vocalist Ruben Garza and must say i was mildy disappointed. I was expecting something like a Dos Gilberto Style or even some Ruben Vela style, but this cd is very different. I don't know maybe it's just me, anyone else here agree with me or even disagree? I would love to hear you all's thoughts.
Ya this cd didnt do it for me either. The guy is an awesome musican, but this cd really was lackluster. Hopefully his next cd is more the type of music we have come to be accustomed to by this Conjunto Legend.
Look that is why he left the 2 G's to get his own stile.So do not worry all wil be find just support him..also enjoyed his CD.Carlos give me your opinion on the new(and improved Rube Garza)
It's a solid cd, with good music. I agree it isnt 2 G's and i think that's what he was going for. He is doing his own thing and some people will like it some won't. From a musical stand point its a really good cd, just don't expect Dos Gilberto's cause it's not and it was not attended to be. Good job Ruben and i hope the cd does great brotha. If you like conjunto music, pick up this cd. I will play some on an upcoming show so people can check it out. I think most will like what they hear
Let Ruben do his style of music.He is a great musican & is now free to do his style.Not sure what you expected when he went off on his own.So relax enjoy him while you can.Hope you come around to his own new group.
What negativity. Every musician has a style of their own. This is the style Reuben chose nothing wrong with that. You want Los 2g's and RubenVela style . Don't understand why???? There are already quite a few groups playing like them. Can't anyone think positive anymore and just wish Reuben the best of luck? He is an artist and award winner. He's been in this industry too long and knows what he's doing. I personally wish him well and I think his new CD is GREAT! Wake up people. No wonder conjunto music doesn't get anywhere. ait's because of people you always negative.
