Firtst of all, I would like the thank Canasta Records for entrusting me with this responsibility....It's an honor, and I plan on doing my best to full fill the standards established by Canasta Records.....all right enough "schmoooozing" and lets get to business.....
I picked up the Debut cd from BIGG LOU AND THE BOYZ a couple of weeks ago.... I know that this is not the hard core conjunto that we all know and love, but is what BIGG LOU refers to as "TEJANO CONJUNTO" From what I see and hear Lou and the Boyz have set the bar high on this debut cd...anything less than a masterpiece would be considered a dissapointment, so they are going to have to work harder on their upcoming Cd's just to be able to match what they have created......
1. Amigo Mio......made popular by el Mazz back in the day, and brought back to life by Lou and the boyz....great sound with out all the keyboards and fancy electronics, great job on the vocals...
2. Compre una Cantina...great song, once again Bigg Lou shows off that bigg voice and really nails this one....
3. Una pura y dos con sal.....I would call this the tejano conjunto version of Me Importa Madre....where conjunto tells it like it is....this is just a nicer way of telling you like it is....
4. Una lagrima por tu amor....great song...
5. Pa todo el Ano.....this is by far my favorite song on the CD, great vocals, accordion is nice and smooth, band really shows off their talent on this one....
6. que voy hacer....
7. Linda Morenita.....an all time favorite, great interpretation
8. tu recuerdo y yo....the ultimate drinking song....
9. para no pensar en ti.....nice cumbia,
10. Lost with out you....this is where the tejano in Lou comes out....
Over all a great CD to listen to....if this "Tejano Conjunto" is to become a hybrid of conjunto, then there is no other band better than BIGG LOU AND THE BOYZ to lead the charge....I understand that everyone here is a fan of conjunto, but if your also a fan of good music, then this one is for you......

The cd sounds pretty interesting. I will be sure to pick up a copy and jam it out. Good music is good music no matter the genre. Thanks again and keep up the great work. Great review.....I've known Bigg Lou all his life and music is definetly in his soul to include the will to succeed in the bussiness! Reviews like this will definetly help get him and The Boyz the recognition they deserve!

Just came by to say, that this CD is one of my personal favorites and agrees with this review, we also play BIGG LOU on the radio station. and we are looking forward to his new and upcoming projects, I have also seen BIGG LOU and the BOYZ jam live, and they are just as good in person as the CD.
I have never heard a song I didn't like sung by Luis Garza. He has an amazing voice. He could sing the alphabet and it would be heaven. The band is outstanding and even better LIVE on stage. Congrats and don't forget us little people on your way to the top!

AWESOME review!!!!! I have had the pleasure to hear these guys and dance to their music live. The more I watch and hear Bigg Lou sing, the more he grows as a performer. When he sings, he sings from the bottom of his heart, and thats the way it should be. He has an incredible captivating voice that will take him and his boyz straight to the top. Keep up the good work boyz!!!!!!
