When Vath Navy and her husband split up after 40 years of marriage they went all the way when it came to dividing up the family home in Cambodia's Prey Veng province.
Hubby shifted his belongings to one side of the property, then sawed and chiseled it down the middle.
He's taken his half and all his worthy goods to some land his parents own.
Now she and the kids are making the best of things in the 50 percent they have left.
"It's an unusual case. I lost out because I don't have any strong people backing me. I have no father, I have an old mother and my brothers live too far away and were all too busy to come and help me."
Despite the couple's separate lives there is still some dispute over how the house came to be chopped in half.
Navy says their respective shares of the property parted company when she was unable to pay her departing husband the equivalent of 3, 000 dollars.
Neighbors say the couple agreed to the drastic operation because of the high cost of calling in a divorce lawyer.
