Without a doubt Pete Diaz. In my opinion, he is in the top 6 all time. He is up there with Eloy Bernal, Ramon Medina, Oscar Tellez, Ruben Garza, Lupe Enriquez
Today's best bajo player has to be Ted villalobos, that boy can play anything from Old school conjunto, to norteno, tejano, you name it he will throw it down on the bajo sexto. that boy is very talented, and I will put my money on him any day.
i would have to say ted villalobos too, not only because he is my primo but that boy can throw down any style. For those that don't know him he started play with me and a couple of primos, and our group name was conjunto Mezquite, some of you'll might know us and some of you might not. He also played for albert flores, and now he has his own group. There are many good bajo players, but then you have people who are gifted to play the instument, that's just my opinion, everyone is entitled to one. I also think rey longoria can jamm, adan dela rosa, pete diaz, coco vasquez and michael G.
