Hey guys, just thinking about some music stuff and would like to ask for you all's thoughts on this subject. What do you all think about a band's lead singer using a song book on the stage?
I use one. Bernardo uses one. Fantasmas, Dos Gilbertos, Gilberto Perez, Mingo Saldivar, even the great Three Tenors, International superstars used a book when they sang.Lots of people use them, for lots of different reasons.
Mine, I'm not very good at spanish, and I have a condition that prevents me from retaining things into memory.
PTSD from a bout of Menengitis I had a few years back, Has made me remember some bad things that happened in my life, and my psychaiatrist told me to go back to playing music...LOL, I like that doctor!!...LOL
She said that because I did it before the military, that music puts me back in my comfort zone...LOL
If you need it use it, Conjunto is about the Music not the visuals on stage, IMO.
Good question. I have one too and i too myself don't use it very often. It's simply like Alacrane said it's nice to know you got a backup plan incase you forgot an old song you don't play too often. '
I don't use one i have been blessed with a great mind to retain musical knowledge. They call me the human ipod. That being said there is nothing wrong with using a song book, not everyone is gifted with a tremendous mind of a genius.
Issac just wanted to let you know i admire your talent. You sir are a very talented musican who i would be honored to share the stage with anytime anywhere. Keep doing what your doing it's sounds great.
As for you tothepunch, thanks for the comments as well. I will remember them when i am on stage collecting yet another Grammy to add to my impressive collection of awards. Have a good day sir.
I got to sit and look thru Isaac's song book, man I was like a kid in a Candy store, got to see some lyrics that I at times didnt understand what they were....
