I just heard the song Prenda Del Alma on a popurri with the Garcia Bros. The bajo sexto sounds bad-ass anyone know who was playing bajo with them at that time? Jimmy was still with them at this time.

Actually alot of people dont know is that Jimmy Garcia recorded most of the bajo sexto parts in their CDs,, in that Electric Pachuco Album,, Jimmy recorded the Drums,, Bass,, Bajo Sexto,, Accordion,, and Vocals!! When I was there I actually recorded some bass parts too!!

Yeah well there's 2 different types of tunings u are talking about,, the one Jimmy used on his late CDs is the "Steve Jordan" type of tuning,, that one basically consists of the low accordion notes to be Octavized leaving the high ones regular 440 dry,, another similar tuning that sounds like that one is the "Assordinado" tuning like los 2 Gs,, The one I Use is all 440 Dry tuning,, which is the one that Jimmy used to use,, Steve from Homies uses,, as well as alot of other guys,, its basically just tuned regular but with NO VIBRATION at ALL!! Its a simple trick but sounds great!! I do my own tunings so whoever is interested let me know!!

No thats acually a guy Called Martin or "Marty" from California,, he's got a conjunto known as Conjunto Califaz,, I recorded the last five albums,, Te Necessito, Si No Te Hubieras Hido, Companero Prisionero, Abrazame,, and the Latest on Chukos!! Even though my picture isnt on it!!
