Carlos, what ever happened to Lovs Vidal Bros? They were from there in Kingsville. They used to play some good Conjunto Bernal Style Music. Great Voices

Hey Leo thanks for the post. Los Vidal are still around, but they changed their style. Now they play more along the lines of Solido, Duelo, Siggno. They released a new cd under Serca music from Mexico. The band also just has 2 of the founding 4 bros. One of the brothers Rudy passed away like a year ago, and another Ronnie just plays with them once in a while since he has a full-time job that requires him to travel from what i hear. I hope this helps. Thanks

Hey Carlos, am I correct to say that these boys were the grandsons of Bernal?

Leo, here is Grupo Vidal's web page.  Check it out and preview their new sound.  I must say, it's very different from what it used to be.

Hey GB, no they were not related to Bernal. Their Father(Robert Vidal) sang on some of Bernal's earliest recordings along with La Pulga (Ruben Perez). But thats about the only relation to Conjunto Bernal. No bloodlines here, just alot of talent.

Hey thanks guys for the helpful info. I just heard the new stuff by them. Umm, dont get me wrong they still play well, but they sound like everyone else instead of having that distint sound they used to have. I prefer their older material more myself

yeah, I agree Leo.  They sound really good now, but just not my cup of tea.  I love their old stuff.  My respects to all the Vidal boys, great musicians.
