This is Anthony....ex-drummer for Invicto. This drummer jams.....he's got everything going. It's real hard putting everything you've got into your music and staying on beat. Even drummers that play straight conjunto can sometimes fall off. So, please don't criticize unless you can play like a tempo machine yourself.
hey u are the new acordion player for hometownboys you dont stay in beat either,you rush on some of your licks,thats why it this drummer dont bother you, this drummer cant keep a solid beat,you dont hit the cymbals that much in conjunto its time for the newcomers to learn something from the older guys

the best conjunto drummers are from corpus and the valley,very discipline,houstonn drummers copy corpus style of playing and san antonio just have the worst conjunto drummers,the higher we go up in texas the worst the drummers get,but they think they are badass

OK....Los Monarcas...Los Cuatro Aces....Grupo Invicto....Impozzible....Los Dominantes....are all Houston based conjuntos that don't sound anything like Corpus or each other where all of the Corpus bands do (mind you, they all swap musicians)....so how do you justify that comment that was made....Tejano Boys.....Los Dos Gilbertos....Badd Boys Del Valle.....completely different end of the spectrum.....sound nothing like Corpus.....EVERYONE has their own style

And by the way...everyone in conjunto sounds like someone in conjunto. Also if you listen to Boni's demo...he didnt sing with the raspy voice..wonder where he got it from!
Listen to who you like and leave the rest for the others. If you do not like the way someone plays thats your problem. We all have different preferences and taste!
if you are trying to say that boni sings like jhonny cruz,you are mistaken.boni is a great singer ,he found his character and put it to play.oh and he sings on key.without boni no jhonny cruz
Did I say Johnny Cruz? No I did not. My point was that they all are inspired by someone. John will be the first to tell you that Boni is/was one of his major musical influences.
As for the no Boni no John comment...lets be real...no Angel Flores/Tony De La Rosa = alot of no conjuntos...again all inspired by someone!!
Also..the Boni/John comments have all been posted and said before. Move on. I personally am happy to have both to listen and jam to. Same for Ruben De La Garza and Los Dos Gilbertos. Same as to when David formed LTA and we still have T5. The more conjuntos the better off we are!!
