Just thought I would try something different....its 1:06a.m. Still got the buzzin in my head, trying to figure out if its from the music we just heard or the budlights we drank...the line up tonight consisted of: David Flores on accordion, Jesse Flores on bass, Jerry Flores on bajo, Mike Gutierrez on drums...this was by far the best line up the Alacranes has had!! The electricity in the air and ambiente was evident from the minute we walked in the door. The place was so crowded that we had to sit in the corner as if we had been put in time out! Because we were late. But luckily we had a great view, right beside the band! David and the boys were really on their game tonight..as my wife would say...."They really brought it down!!" Want to thank David for the shout outs...it always feels good to be acknowledged. As always they did a great job with all the Alacranes material, including new songs from their upcoming CD. My personal favorits were Lamento de Un Prisionero, El Muro, El Gallo Herido, Te He Prometido (sung by Mike) not only is he a talented drummer but a pretty good singer in his own right. Most memorable would be the way the guys poured their hearts out on stage. Every "AAAAUUURRRUUUU" from David was heart felt lol...It was as if you were feeling his pain lol!!!!! At one point during the show Los Alacranes showed that they are not only one of the top Conjuntos but also some of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. They allowed a friend of mine Mr. Ron Walker to play a couple of polkas on the accordion with the band. ( pics will be posted as soon as I sober up) lol...Thank you David for giving Ron the opportunity, and by the way that was one bad azz red, white and BLUE Gabanelli. If it feels like I left something out it was one on purpose. Reason being....even though when I write these reviews I want you all to feel as if you were there, but I wanna leave you con las ganas of going to see these guys for yourselves. Once again Thanks to Maks Ice House for bringing in the best Conjunto talent week in and week out.
I COULDNT HAVE SAID IT BETTER THAN HUSTLETOWN! BADASS SHOW ALL AROUND! AND THANX TO MAK'S ICE HOUSE FOR KEEPIN IT CONJUNTO EVERY WEEKEND! HASTA LA PROXIMA CARNALES!
