I am dissapointed in the line-up for the Conjunto Festival. I was hoping Juan Tejeda would seek advice from the South Texas Conjunto Association. I like Tejano music but I understood it to be called the Conjunto Festival? I was thinking more on the lines of a night for the women of conjunto, Susan Torres,Conjunto Central, Los Laytons,Etc, also a night of los grandes de conjunto like Rueben Vela, Gilberto Perez,Los Fantasmas del Valle, and the last night of the young upcoming conjuntos like lazaro Perez, Los Tremendos Alacranes, Los Tellez, Etc. I will be attending the Festival because I support conjunto and would like those that love conjunto support this fesival in San Antonio, Texas.
I have been going for years in the past and its the same ole thing.(my opinion)They nee more conjuntos from our area and the valley besides the same one's. The only good thing about this year is that its not during mother's day, what good does that do if the groups are the same ones as the years before. Corpus should start its own festival, Dallas and Houston have one.
