Gerardo Mejia y su Clica from Rio Grande City, TX! Everyone here at Canasta wants to welcome G.M. Y su  Clica to the Canasta Records family!!

Here at Canasta we continue our promise of developing fresh talent for you the fans out there, and these guys are a great conjunto who are going to make big waves real soon! Look for their debut cd in a few weeks. It promises to be another smash hit from another Elite Member of The Canasta Family where only the big boys are allowed to play.

Being from the valley i have had the chance to hear these guys many times and let me say they are an elite conjunto. very talneted and Gerado sounds like a young Ruben vela on the accordion. great addition to the company! congrats

LUSA, great that you like the way we play, I consider myself a big fan of Maestro Ruben Vela, por 9 años I have been admiring him, since I was 8, now I'm 17, and I know I still have to learn a lot, for this I need a motivation and that's what I feel the community of Canasta and friends like you are giving us....

Thank you all, Vicky, JR, Lopez, Robert Y and LarryGo for your support, we all the Clica were at Canasta Records offices today to work on the proyect.  We got to know Maggie and she was the one that worked harder, also a fine person like all the family and very professional Graphic Designer, she took some pics and will design the CD cover, (thank you again Maggie), so, friends, it's closer.
