Wow Wow Wow! This cd hit me like a breath of fresh air. Most young musicans nowadays try to emulate other legends, so what you basically end up getting is alot of Tony De La Rosa, Dos Gilberto, Ruben Naranjo, Ruben Vela ect.. clones. Not this young man. Basically what he does is he gets the best from those groups and others and fuses them into his own unique style. The musicans on this cd are all also true masters of their trade and it really shows, with their precise command of their tools (instruments) on this recording.
The result of this "Power Fusion" if you will, is a Powerful old-school,hardcore conjunto sound with a modern twist. I was blown away with songs such as "Voy A Olvidarme De Ti", "Parejos Y No Fijon", "Mi Linda Esposa", "Estella" polka. Overall i think all the tracks are excellent.Vocals, and music both very well done on this cd. This young man is on his way to joining the legends he admires. Best young artist in conjunto today PERIOD!
In closing, i hope that more young musicans follow his lead, in that instead of trying to copy other groups styles, simply get ideas from our legends, and fuse them to your own unique style to create something different as Lazaro has done here. This cd is for all Conjunto/Tejano fans, hardcore, causual, and musicans alike. I highly recommend you add this cd to your collection. Trust me you will be glad you did. Final Grade A+
