I agree with the last two comments and believe that it's all about a mutual respect that SHOULD exist between musicians. I use the word should because of a recent experience. I ,myslef, am not a musician, but I'm engaged to one. We recently attended a dance in which my fiance (who happens to be a well known accordion player) and the singer/accordion of the band playing that night go way back. Well, to make a long story short, my fiance was never invited up to play. His feelings were a bit hurt. My response, to him ,was simply that perhaps he (my fiance) might not have received an invite because this guy(the one playing that night) is somewhat intimidated by my fiance's awesome talent. I felt this guy, who also has so much talent, demostrated a lack of respect. Out of repect,I have left names out of my comment, but you know if this applies to you.
Ya you should always invite the other musican or musicans on stage it's just proper respect. As for the person that didnt let the other person get on stage what goes around comes around is all i can say.
always at least invite its the right thing to do as a musican. as for that other person that didnt do that well, like was posted before me what goes around comes around.
MY OPINION YOU NEED TO REMEMBER THAT ONCE YOUR ON STAGE YOU ARE PERFORMING FOR THE PUBLIC THAT CAME AND PAID TO SEE YOUR SHOW AND THE OTHER BANDS PERFORMING THAT NIGHT. MM IN A PAID PUBLIC EVENT, NOW THIS IS ME I WOULD RECOGNIZE MY FELLOW MUSICIAN.
