When I come home to the states in April/May time frame I would like to have a band for my first cookout back in San Benito. What is the average price for hiring a conjunto band?

[spoiler]

You might find a good local band from your area for like 400-500 dollars, usually if a band from out of town gets called they have to charge a little more cause of high gas prices.

Ya Kidd is right $400-500 dollars for a local band is about right it just depends if there is other bands in your area. The more competition from other local bands means better prices for the fans looking to hire them.

Ya man gas prices are driving band prices up. Some bands can't even afford to travel as much anymore outside of there area code. Your best bet would be a good local band, they should be affordable, and provide great music.
