Hey guys I'm new to the world of Conjunto..just about 2 years into it so this is important for me to understand. Before the change I was and still into the guitar..rock, metal, progressive and blues. It was law to know the major, minor, pentatonic and all the tricks in between. Even with all of the knowledge many players sounded robotic. So with that said what makes a good accordion/bajo player. I understand even knowing all of the chords and scales doesn't make a good conjunto player. So in your opinion, what gives them that extra edge?
Like someone said you got to do it for the love of the music. You can tell when musicans do something just for the pay. Doing your own stuff too is also big in my book.
Practice is what makes a good musican great and an average musican good. No matter how good you are, you should never stop learning. In my opion that makes a musican great.
I think some becomes great when they can play a little of everything, can do some original stuff, and gets the crowd into the music. Also the way they carry themselves matters alot.
