I hope everyone is doing well. I really enjoyed the topic from MG on how do you prepare for a gig. I'm amazed with all the different answers and of course most answers are from musicians. As a manager, bookie and bouncer (lol) I literally get all the instruments in one section ready for load-up, get the "uniforms" ready for the guys and make sure we have all our merchandise, posters, and business cards. But I gotta say, it has become a faithful ritual with the guys and the spouses that before any performance they huddle up "like a football team" and join in with a prayer. We've found that when we "accidentally" started without it, the performance was just so-so! Call it ironic, superstitious or whatever, but the prayer ALWAYS has been powerful for us!
So......with that in mind....I'd like to know what drives you to go time after time to perform? Do you ever get discouraged? And if so, Why?
Bueno folks, I hope each and everyone of you had a GREAT THANKSGIVING! God Bless you all and we'll be talking!
For me it's about the rush of being on stage. Nothing like getting on stage and just jamming your heart out. It's a natural high that can't be matched!
Well for me it's simply about haivng fun. It's jamming with your compadres and haivng a good time. Money aint important at that point it's just letting the kid inside of you come out and play.
Being the best. It's that simple, i want to be the best at whatever i do, wheter it's playing conjunto music or playing football, or playing xbox. Being the best is what drives me.
