I have just learned the sad sad news that Conjunto Legend Ramon Medina has passed away. From all of us here at Canasta Records our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Ramon was a true legend in the conjunto world, and was one of the Best Bajo Sexto players off all time. He was also a great person who loved and lived conjunto music. May God Bless him and his family in these tuff times. He will always be alive in all the great music he left behind. A true legend as a man and a musican. Rest in Peace Conjunto Legend.

Although Ramon has left this world, there is no doubt that he has left his mark behind. One of the greatest musicians in the Conjunto industry in my book. Rest in peace my friend and may you continue to serenade us from above.
Well I guess Conjunto will never be the same Mr. Medina has and will forever be my Idol, and the best bajo player ever without a dought.... The best Plomaso ever has gone to play with Tony once agian....
Long Live Ramon Medina.....Un grande entre los grandes! I'm truly saddened by his passing. I was so touched when he went personally to one of my gigs in the valley. He hand delivered, from his hands to my hands, HIS song that I recorded on my most recent cd: "Virgencita Morenita". I believe he knew that I had a weak leg and gave me this particular song because it fit my life story. Thank you, Ramon. May you rest in peace! My condolences to his family and all the musicos who were his close friends! He will be dearly missed! Sinceramente, Linda Escobar
