Hey guys, i was wondering all this talk about Hohners and Bafetti's what do you all think about a Gabenelli for our style of Conjunto(Tony, Valerio Longoria,Dos Gilbertos). Do any of our conjuntos use those types? I cant imangine Tony jamming a Gab it is just not right. Anyways what are you alls thoughts. I am a Honher man myself
My respects to Gabbanelli accordions, but I'm not fond of them being used in Conjunto. I think there are only two Conjunto icons who can get away with using them; Ruben Vela and Gilberto Perez.
I think Ruben Naranjo used a Gab most of the time and i think Los Monarcas use them too. They are ok for conjunto, but most of the artists in our type of conjunto prefer Hohners.
Mario Diaz does have a Gabbanelli but hardly uses it at performances he uses his Hohner most of the night .... his Hohner is awesome...he doesnt use his Gabbanelli as much as he does his Hohner... last time i saw them he didnt use it at all ...
KK, they do use a Gabby, but not all the time. They also use Hohner at times. The use of a Gabby by no means takes away from them being very talented musicians.
if you all can remember Boni, used a gab when he played with the Hometown Boys, and if you all like his style, you all know he's hardcore conjunto, its just personal preference it just depends on the sonido, and how its tuned basically "es el mono" the gab sounds killer on boleros!!!
